Applied Behavior Analyst Licensing Bill (SB 2217) Hits the Senate in Massachusetts


Contact Your Senator to Advocate for Your Right to Independently Practice!  Rep. Scibak's bill is now SB 2217 (to view SB 2217 click here) - this bill was formerly H1901 (to view H1901 click here).  If it passes it would establish an independent Licensing Board in Massachusetts made up of Behavior Analysts and two members of the public. BABAT feels it is in the best interest of Behavior Analysts and the consumers of Applied Behavior Analytic services that the licensure of Behavior Analysts be independently overseen by competent Behavior Analysts NOT Licensed Psychologists or other persons less knowledgeable in behavior analysis. SB 2217 is also critical for assuring that Autism Insurance Reform (ARICA)... (go to BABAT's Professional Practice page to learn more - click HERE).

First Ever BABAT Networking Event A Success!

Licensing Hearing Well Attended by Behavior Analysts and Parent Advocates

BABAT would like to thank the many practitioners and parent advocates that turned out for the Licensing Hearing on September 20th.  We packed the room and showed our enthusiastic support for a responsible licensing process for behavior analysts.  Representative Balser's bill was heard first...
