Advocacy
Welcome to BABAT’s Professional Practice page, where we champion the advancement of behavior analysis through dedicated legislative, regulatory, and professional advocacy efforts. Our mission is to influence policy, promote best practices, and ensure that MA behavior analysts are supported in their profession. Here, you'll find updates on legislative initiatives, regulatory changes, and advocacy campaigns that impact our field. We are committed to representing the interests of behavior analysts across Massachusetts by engaging with policymakers, fostering professional collaborations, and driving initiatives that enhance the practice and recognition of behavior analysis. Join us in our efforts to shape the future of our profession and make a meaningful impact on the policies that affect our work and the individuals we serve.
Focus Groups:
The BABAT Professional Practice Committee has three focus groups. (1) Insurance and third party payers, (2) Public Schools, and (3) Adult Services. These groups rotate meeting weekly. Within the rotation is also a monthly Roundtable meeting open to all BABAT members. The monthly roundtable meeting covers major developments from our focus groups, legislative/regulatory updates, and general advocacy needs. All BABAT Roundtable attendees, in addition to staying updated on the status of important professional issues, will also have the opportunity to share with the committee areas in need of BABAT advocacy and request clarification or support on a variety of professional issues.
