Behavior Change for a Sustainable World Research Award
BABAT has created the Behavior Change for a Sustainable World Research Award to support research that uses behavior analysis concepts and principles to promote sustainable practices/environmentally friendly behavior change. To facilitate the establishment of a defined field of behavior analytic research with a primary goal of increasing understanding of human behavior as it relates to environmental preservation. To disseminate empirically demonstrated effective sustainable practices.
Eligibility
- Nominees must be a BABAT member
- Must live, work, or attend school in Massachusetts
- This award is for a research proposal. It is not for a completed research project. The research proposal must describe an applied research project directly related to enhancing environmentally sustainable practices.
- The proposal must describe research with a focus on observable and measurable behavior (or the products thereof) as the dependent variable and the manipulation of well-defined environmental events as independent variables.
- Applied research proposals should correspond to the guidelines suggested by Baer, Wolf, & Risley (1968, 1987).
